This blog was an underground site of “creative process” of the film “Lipsett diaries”. It launched in November 2008, and served as a “social ventilation” during the tedious and intense process of making this film.
From today, it wont be maintained anymore. In the next month or 2, it will still be online, after that it will be deleted. A new, official film site is launched:

This week. The World premiere of Lipsett diaries, at Worldwideshostfilmfest, Toronto. 2 of June, 7pm, Cumberland theatre. Also, LA, Leammle theatre, 4-6 of June.
This blog will End tomorrow. After that I fly for Zagreb. I don’t know why I decided to go exactly to this festival. I guess, I want to escape from the places where this film will have an impact, hide myself into a place where I can just have fun, and not thinking about the film. For a first time in my life, I feel nervous about the first screenings of my film. I put too much on this film, that’s why. It allmost killed me, literaly. It was intense, insane, day&night 2 Years work. Few hours a day sleep…It was a deep dive into the madness.

The film hasn’t been shown yet, but there are some press reviews:
“The upstart actor and auteur from Montreal who recently made his second splash at Cannes, Xavier Dolan contributes narration to another Canadian standout. Mesmerizing for its smudgy whorl of images, Lipsett’s Diaries explores the fertile imagination and turbulent personal history of renowned NFB filmmaker Arthur Lipsett.”

Today, just 2 weeks before the film sorts out (another coincidence?) , someone put never seen before archives regarding Arthur Lipsett, on e-bay. Those are treasures. It looks like this guy/woman was a really good friend of him. He (or she) got the final letter from his aunt, about his death, and his gravestone. In any case - Arthur Lipsett ghost doesn’t find his peace, evidently. It comes, and comes again.

He cried in a whisper at some image, at some vision—he cried out twice, a cry that was no more than a breath—”The horror! The horror!”
